Islander Sports News

We would like to wish all graduating student athletes the best in their future endeavours. Thank you for being a part of our Islander family whether it was for one season or four!

Swim team untouchable at home

In their only home meet of the year the Isles were not about to let the home pool advantage go to waste. The men took their third straight meet by 53 points over Maisonneuve. The women took their second consecutive meet, this time by a margin of 11 points. Both squads are showing improvement and looking to continue their winning ways in 2016.

Women’s Hockey ends the semester on a high note

Aube Racine was stellar as she shutout the Champlain Cougars in the Isles 2-0 win on Friday night. Sandrine Hachez scored midway through the first period. The Isles kept the pressure on the Cougars all game long peppering the net with 49 shots keeping control thanks to 10 powerplays. Hachez sealed the victory with an empty net goal late in the third. Alyssa Domsodi assisted on both goals.

Men’s Basketball looking comfortable

At the halfway mark of the season the Isles sit in 2nd place, one game out of first. The Isles defeated Dawson 93-76 to bring their record to 5-2. Justin Owen-Renwick had a game high 26, Keevon Small added 20 and Daniel Cayer had yet another double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Women’s Basketball looking forward to 2016

The women’s basketball team played their best game of the season Friday night but still came up on the short end of a 73-55 decision to the Dawson Blues. The Islanders trailed by 9 with five minutes to play in the game but a last run by the Blues gave them a comfortable lead down the stretch.

Darnelle Noel was exceptional as she scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while Meagan Charbonneau chipped in with 9 points, all in the second half.
