This one or two-semester program concentrates on preparing students for entrance into the career program of their choice. Students are taught the necessary skills to be successful in their CEGEP studies. Students can obtain missing prerequisites or improve their academic record in order to meet entrance requirements for a particular career program. In their first semester, students will take general education courses, a sample of first year career program courses, any missing prerequisite courses, and a study skills (Career Explorations) course. The aim of this last course is to help students explore their career interests.
Students applying to the Pathways to a Career program should have demonstrated above average academic ability in high school, particularly in any pre-requisite science or math courses they have taken or are currently enrolled in, that are necessary to enter their required program of study.
