BIOPHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY

Starting Fall 2012, John Abbott College will offer Québec’s only English language Production Technology program focussing on biotechnologies and the pharmaceutical industry.

Housed in the new Science and Health Technologies building, the laboratory spaces are designed to train students in both sterile and non-sterile manufacturing processes, dry-form manufacturing, liquid/ointment/ cream manufacturing, fermentation, harvesting, sample-testing techniques and quality control as well as the packaging of various dosage forms.

As a BioPharma student, you will learn flexible and transferable skills in areas such as:

CEGEP ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

A secondary School Diploma which includes:

Secondary V Language of Instruction, Secondary V Second Language, Secondary IV Mathematics, Secondary IV Science and Technology or Secondary IV Technological and Scientific Applications, and Secondary IV History and Citizenship Education.

OR A secondary School Vocational Diploma which includes: Secondary V Language of Instruction, Secondary V Second Language, and Secondary IV Mathematics.

OR Applicants who have not studied in Quebec must have education deemed equivalent by the College. 

BIOPHARMA PROGRAM PRE-REQUISITES:

Prior to applying, please consult the up-to-date prerequisites as published in the SRAM online application guide (http://sram.omnivox.ca) or on the John Abbott College Admissions web page (www.johnabbott.qc.ca/admissions ). 

Prerequisites for students graduating from high school in 2010 or later.

Prerequisites for students graduating from high school before 2010: Math 526 or Math 436

John Abbott College is affiliated with the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) and uses its online application service. The application deadline is March 1st. To apply:

  • Select John Abbott and the program of your choice along with the corresponding SRAM program number: 235.CO
  • If applicable, mail in photocopies of all required documents and the application fee. 

This program starts in the Fall semester only.
