Introduction to Wound Care Management


This course is intended for registered nurses licensed in Quebec who are involved with wound care in acute care, long-term care and community care settings.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the importance of skin and wound care management for nurses
  2. Identify basic wound care principles
  3. Recognize the phases of wound healing
  4. Describe the key components of wound bed preparation
  5. Describe factors that affect wound healing
  6. List what is included in a detailed wound assessment
  7. Differentiate between different types of wounds and their underlying causes
  8. Describe wound care treatment options

$190 plus tax, for the 7 hour day
