Prerequisites One of the following two options:

  1. a) candidate has completed the previous level of this course (Beginner)
  2. b) candidate knows how to program in Objective-C, is familiar with Xcode development environment, and has actually created one or more simple mobile applications in iOS (for iPhone and iPad)

N.B. Experience in programming Android platform is NOT a sufficient prerequisite.

N.B. Experience in programming PhoneGap, Corona, Titanium or similar multi-platform development accelerator is NOT a sufficient prerequisite.

Target Audience Programmers who already possess basic working knowledge that allowed them develop an application for iOS, and who want to further their understanding and practical ability to program iOS devices effectively.

NB. This is a non-credit course. Certificate provided for all participants who have completed 80% of course hours

Course Description:

This course furthers student’s understanding and practical ability to program the iOS platform. This includes programming more advanced user controls, using file and database storage, as well as accessing content from internet.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Broader overview of User Interface (UI) controls available in iOS
  • Discussion of ergonomic UI design principles on mobile devices
  • Accessing files and databases on iOS devices
  • Downloading content from internet
