Coaching Staff

    Anthony Haddad (Coach)

Anthony currently serves as the Student Success Coordinator, a posting held within the department of Student Services. He graduated from Concordia University in 1988 with a B. Comm. (Finance). Having coached minor league baseball and hockey in the Lac-St-Louis region for the past 15 years, he has assumed the position of interim head coach for the Fall 2011 season. His training accomplishments include a technical LEVEL 3 baseball coaching certification, as well a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) level 2 accreditation.

     Joel Fitleberg (Coach)

Joel joined the Physical Education Department in 2009 and has served as a teacher for the past 2 years. He holds a Bachelor degree in Physical Education and has taught in the elementary and high school system for 20 years. In 1987 he coached the Midget AAA Ambassadeurs de Laval … His athletic accomplishments include a top-100 amateur golf ranking in Quebec.

    Sambu Ndungidi (Coach)

Sambu is one of the most successful baseball players to have emerged from the West Island.  He was drafted as an outfielder by the Los Angelese Dodgers and played in the Dodgers minor league network.  He also played independent professional baseball in Edmonton and Ottawa.  His wide experience in coaching ranges from youth to professional baseball , with stops in Florida, Toronto, Montréal and the Outaouais region.  Sambu graduated high school at St-Georges in Senneville, Québec.  He will be the Islanders' hitting coach and supervise the outfield.


  

 

 

    Eric Laferrière (Academic Coach & Game Announcer)

 Eric joined the Department of Humanities, Philosophy and Religion at JAC in 1996, and began serving as Department Chair in 1999 and Liberal Arts Program Coordinator in 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from McGill University, and has published two books, several articles, and many book reviews on issues related to ecology and international relations. Eric is the coordinator for girls baseball in the Lac St-Louis Region and also coaches baseball with Baseball West Island. He joined the JAC Baseball coaching staff in 2003. Eric and wife Pat live in Pointe-Claire, and are proud parents of Ryan and Evelyn.
