
Coaching Staff
Hank Binning - Head Coach
Hank Binning is the head coach of the Lady Islanders and has held that position for three years, but has been involved with the team for the last 5 years. Hank has a wealth of experience in girls sports for the last 18 years which includes softball, soccer, hockey and ringuette. He has been coaching organized sports at different levels for the last 26 years.
He has held many positions within the hockey association, which includes Director of Hockey Feminine for Trois Lacs as well as for Lac. St. Louis. While holding that position, it gave him the opportunity to help establish The Elites and Selects program, which later became AA within the Hockey Quebec Federation. His coaching has also included two Jeux du Quebec teams, one which came home with the silver medal, two Provincial championship teams and Montreal Metro AAA hockey for 6 summers.
Hank is the father of three grown children and has been married for 27 years.
Pierre Mongeon - Assistant Coach
Pierre returns the Abbott coaching staff this season after coaching with the Lady Islanders from 2005-2007. As a player he played Junior Varsity for Concordia University in the early 1970`s. He graduated from Concordia University in 1978 with a BSC in Biophysical Education.
He has coached at Loyola High School at the pee-wee and juvenile levels and has been involved with the Concordia Stinger Hockey School for the past 26 years (mostly with goaltender division).
He has also worked with The Can/ Am hockey group Lake Placid for the last 21 years, hockey camps for youth and adult (men & women) and overseeing tournaments. He also coached with the Midget boys Espoir Tigers Lac St. Louis team from 2007-2009.
Pierre has been working in the Insurance and Investment field since 1986. A resident of Ile Bizard, he is married and a proud father of 3 children.
Félix-Antone Camiré D'Aoust - Assistant Coach
Felix is a graduate student from the Business Administration program at John Abbott College. He is the youngest assistant coach here at the college. He played four years for John Abbott AAA Men’s soccer team and won several awards throughout his time with the team. His position as assistant coach for the Lady Islanders began un the 2009-2010 season. Not to mention he also spent a year coaching at the Midget BB level for his region. He has and currently is still playing at the AA level for Trois-Lacs Hockey.
All in all, Felix is a great motivation for our girls and helps bring confidence to the team. His only desire is to make every player a better athlete during there journey at John Abbott College.
David Paré - Goalie Coach
Sabrina Thibault - Strenght & Conditioning Coach
Sabrina is the new Strength & Conditioning coach for the Lady Islander Hockey team. She is a former student and athlete from John Abbott College. Sabrina is currently in her graduating year in Intervention Sportive at Université Laval. Last year, Sabrina had the honour to work with experienced coaches while doing her stage at the Acadamie St-Louis, which is a well known school for placing players in University in the United States. She has been involved in most aspects of hockey from coaching, to reffing, to statistics; she hopes her experiences will help the team in their success.
