FAQs Library Media Services

Library Media Services is a group of services which includes the Library, Media Services and the Language Resources Centre. The Library is in L-101, right at the Herzberg main entrance. Media Services is currently located in room H-101. The Language Resource Centre is located in room P-006.
Many areas of the Library allow for group work: Many large tables are available on the main floor and the second floor, which allows for collaborative work. Fifteen study rooms are also available for students for group assignment or private studying.
Individual study carrels are located on the second floor of the library. Small tables are also scattered around the library for quiet study.
Printers and scanners are available at the Library (only black and white). Students can print using the computers available on the main floor.
Continuing Education students enjoy the same privileges as Day students.
All links to electronic resources (e-books, e-videos, academic databases, electronic newspaper, etc.) are available on our catalog. Also, please note that those resources are accessible from off-campus as well using the student ID number.
The John Abbott Library has a collection of over 65 000 physical documents which are located primarily in the basement and on the second floor of the Library. Computers are available to access the catalog and find the required titles.
Media Services loans out audio-visual and electronic equipment to students. Students go in person to Media Services (room H-101 currently; on the second floor of the library once renovation is completed).
The Library has a growing collection of popular fiction and graphic novels which are located on the main floor of the Library.
