Short fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry
Local prizes: $300 (Three winners, $100 each, publication in Locus)
QWF grand prize: $1000 (The three winners of the local contest will be entered into the Quebec Writers’ Federation College Writers Award)

Contest Guidelines
Contest Guidelines:

Accepted genres: creative nonfiction, short fiction, or poetry.

Maximum length for short stories and creative nonfiction is 4000 words. Maximum length of a poem is 100 lines.

The writer must be enrolled at John Abbott. Limit of one submission per student.

Applicant must have had a primary residence in the province of Quebec for at least one year at the time of submission.

The submission must have been written in English (translations are not eligible).

Cover letter indicating name, address, phone number and student ID.

Submissions will be read blind so no identifying information should be included on submission manuscript.

PDF or Word format only.
