Recognizing the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation at John Abbott College

Who: Media are invited to join the College community in a unique observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

What: Land acknowledgment plaque (visual created by Abbott student Susannah Doxtater) unveiling (11:30am)

Blanket Exercise, building understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada (12:30 – 14:30)

Pourquoi : Pour inclure la communauté du Collège et partager l’importance de cette “… hommage aux enfants qui n’ont jamais pu retourner chez eux et aux survivants des pensionnats ainsi qu’à leurs familles et leurs communautés.
