Please click the Summer School 2022 course list (PREVIEW ONLY) above for full details on the days and times of the course offerings. The College will be closed on June 24, 2022 and July 1, 2022.

COURSES MAY BE CANCELLED DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT.

Summer School Fees

The deadline to pay Summer School fees is June 2, 2022 at 16:00. Failure to pay fees by the deadline will result in deregistration.

Application fee $30.00
For Students currently registered at another CEGEP or Students currently not attending CEGEP
Registration fees per course $29.00 plus tuition (see below for your situation)

TUITION

Quebec Resident $2.00 per course hour
Non Quebec Resident $8.22 per course hour (fees subject to change)
International
(Fees vary according to program)
$32.20 to $49.92 per course hour (fees subject to change)

International students must have a valid student visa and medical health insurance coverage until August 19, 2022 to be permitted to register.

***Fin d’études students who need 1-2 courses to graduate in the summer and, who have not been considered part-time or “fin d’études” in a previous semester will only be required to pay registration fees of $29/course.***

Course Withdrawal and Refund Policy

To officially withdraw from a course, you must complete the course withdrawal form. ***(LINK TO FOLLOW):

Courses dropped from a student record before or on the official drop deadline will not appear on a student transcript. All fees except registration and application fees will be refunded. There will be no exceptions to these deadlines.

IMPORTANT – Refunds are done by cheque and mailed to the address on Omnivox. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the processing of the refund.

Attendance Validation

The day after the drop deadline, you must confirm your attendance in the course(s) in which you are registered using the OMNIVOX ATTENDANCE VALIDATION module. 

Waitlist

As of June 2, if you were unable to register for a course, you can request to add your name to the waitlist by completed the waitlist form.

What Is Your Priority?

PRIORITY A
Graduating students needing 1 to 3 courses to complete diploma requirements or graduating students needing extra courses to meet university prerequisites.

PRIORITY B
Students graduating in the Fall semester needing 1 or 2 courses above their regular course load for their program OR Students graduating in the Fall semester needing 1 or 2 summer courses to stay in sequence.

PRIORITY C
Non-graduating students.

 

Between May 2 and May 27, 2022, John Abbott Students who would like to take a Summer School course must complete the online Summer School Registration Form. (LINK TO FOLLOW)

Priority A & B students will be pre-registered in their course(s) no later than June 1, 2022. Information will be sent to you via OMNIVOX under “Information Intended for You”.

IMPORTANT: Permission to take a course at another CEGEP (commandite) will NOT be given for a course(s) that you are pre-registered in at John Abbott.

Priority C students will be notified of their appointment time by May 31, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. via Omnivox. Registration will be on June 2, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT: Due to limited space at other Cegeps, we will not be issuing commandites for any of the other Cegeps (example: Vanier and Dawson), but you can request a commandite to Cégep à Distance.

Request To Take A Course At Another CEGEP (Commandite) Procedures

Fall 2022 Registration Adjustments (For Day Division Students)

Potential summer graduates who fail a summer school course OR  students who need to add/drop fall courses after receiving summer school grades must send an email to registration@johnabbott.qc.ca by August 5, 2022 and include:

Subject: your name, ID number and program.
Body: a clear explanation of the issues you are having.


  • Students currently registered at another CEGEP must request a “cours commandite” from their CEGEP.
  • Commandites will be processed between May 16 and May 25, 2022. Commandites received afterwards will not be processed.
  • Once the commandite is processed by John Abbott College, students will receive an email with a link to pay the $30 application fee.
  • Registration requests for commandites will only be processed after Priority A & B John Abbott students are registered.
  • Students will be notified by May 27, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.via Omnivox of their appointment time.

IMPORTANT: A submitted commandite request does not guarantee placement in a course.


  • Between May 16 and May 20, 2022, students who are currently not attending a CEGEP level institution must complete the application form. ***(LINK TO FOLLOW)***
  • Once the application form has been completed, students will receive an email with a link to pay the $30 application fee.
  • Registration requests will only be processed after Priority A & B John Abbott students are registered.
  • Specific documents are required to prove that you are eligible to study in Quebec – please see below. Students must email their documents to summerschool@johnabbott.qc.ca
Born in Quebec
  • Your valid Quebec birth certificate (indicating parents’ names)
    AND
  • Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
Born in Canada, but not in Quebec
  • Your valid birth certificate (indicating parents’ names)
    AND
  • One of your parents’ valid Medicare card (if living with your parents) OR Your valid Medicare card (if no longer living with your parents)
    AND
  • Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
Born outside of Canada, but are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Your valid birth certificate (indicating parents’ names) in English or French
    AND
  • Canadian citizenship papers (both sides) OR permanent residency papers (both sides)
    AND
  • Certificat de Sélection (CSQ) – If applicable
    OR
  • One of your parents’ valid Medicare card (if living with your parents) OR Your valid Medicare card (if no longer living with your parents)
    AND
  • Statement of Marks IF you graduated high school outside of Quebec or obtained an equivalent diploma
